Kam Dixon to Make Bennetts BSB Debut at Oulton Park

Kam steps in to replace the injured Danny Kent for McAMS Racing by Mar-Train.

Kam Dixon is set to make his Bennetts British Superbike Championship debut this weekend at Oulton Park, stepping in to replace the injured Danny Kent for McAMS Racing by Mar-Train.

The opportunity marks a huge step in Kam’s career, moving from the Pirelli National Superstock Championship into the premier class of the British paddock for the first time. Having built his racing journey steadily through the junior ranks, this debut is the latest milestone in a career defined by resilience and progression.

Kam’s Yamaha journey began in 2019, when he raced the R3 in the Thundersport Championship. He later graduated to the Yamaha R6 in Junior Superstock in 2023, before stepping up to the National Superstock Championship aboard the R1 with Tinkler’s Motorcycles. There, he delivered consistent points finishes, multiple top-ten results, and ended his rookie season as the highest-placed Yamaha rider in the standings.

In the summer of 2025, he switched to Honda machinery with the Fireblade, but now, for one weekend only, he’ll return to Yamaha power with McAMS Racing. This time, though, it’s a very different challenge: the R1 Superbike is a whole other animal compared to the Superstock version, with more power, more sophisticated electronics, and far greater demands on both rider and machine.

Kam said:

“First of all, I want to wish Danny a speedy recovery after his injury at Donington Park - it’s never easy to see a rider sidelined. I’m really excited to be making my BSB debut at Oulton Park and can’t thank Tim and Sonya enough for the opportunity to race the Yamaha R1 Superbike.

"I’ve really enjoyed my time on the R1 in Superstock 1000, so stepping up this weekend will be a big adjustment but also a fantastic learning experience. I’m looking forward to working with the team and making the most of this opportunity.”

Tim Martin, McAMS Racing Team Owner, added:

“We’re looking forward to seeing what Kam can do on the Yamaha R1 Superbike. He’s already shown his talent on the R1 in Superstock 1000, and with the team behind him, we’re confident he can make a strong transition into the premier class.

"Stepping in for just one round is never easy, so there’s no pressure on Kam to deliver big results. This weekend is about giving him the chance to experience the Superbike and helping him get the most from the opportunity. We’re excited to see how he adapts and to put together a positive, productive weekend as a team.”

The Oulton Park round takes place from 3rd - 5th October, with three Superbike races across the weekend.
